THE WELLINGTON EXHIBITION.

It has been found that the embankment for tho cycle track at tho Exhibition buildings will encroach slightly on tho footpath in Cuba street extension. Permission for tho encroachment has been granted by tho City Council. Some discussion took place at last night’s mooting of the City Council regarding tho proposal of the Public Works Committee that the free 2in water supply for tho Exhibition be not granted, and eventually this recommendation was lost, and it was resolved to grant the supply. The question of giving a model of the Shone system of drainage for tho Exhibition was deferred. Tho Building Committee of the Exhibition met last night, Mr Ballinger in tho chair. In reference to & letter from Messrs Ballinger Bros, in regard to Wade’s patent skylight, tho committee was unable to deal with the matter, and it was deferred till next meeting. Mr Mestayer, Drainage Engineer, wrote agreeing to waive certain conditions in the drainage by-laws, so far as tho Exhibition buildings wore concerned, on account of the temporary character of tho buildings. The payment of wages, amounting to £7l 2s, was authorised. Mr Ballinger resigned from the Lighting Committee, and Mr Flockton was appointed in his stead. Plans of the small hall for the kinomotograph and tho class-room to bo built for Mr HUey (whoso present room is to be used as an art gallery) wore approved, subject to the approval of the president. The committee, after some discussion, decided to allow advertisements to bo put on tho fence surrounding tho bicycle track.
