The reason for this doubtless is—Firstly, that already the Economic has gained the confidence of the public in the reliability of their statements, and that when they announce a sal© the public may expect something worth coming for; secondly, the name of the house is sufficient to ensure reliable goods, and not job, second-rate, or defective articles. Today Messrs George and Kersley announce a fresh batch of wonderful bargains. For instance, the/ will offer 700yds of silk-finished shell and Indian art muslin, worth 6s per dozen yards, for 2s lid and 3a lid the dozen yards, in many of the newest art shades suitable for draplngs, drosses, decorations, &c.; also a quantity of shot-corded ribbons at 6id per yard, worth double. In the showroom a number of the very best mackintoshes in stock, originally marked up to 57a 6d, wil* be offered at 37s 6d each. The rush for the capes and jackets, from Is 9d to 30s each, still continues.
