PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE.
The Public Works Committee will make the following recommendations at the meeting of the City Council on Thursday : That consent be given to the application of Mr G. G. Schwartz (on behalf of Mr T. B. Jobaon) for leave to form a right-of-way 12ffc wide at town acre 93, Abel Smith street, subject to the following conditions: That notmor© than four buildings be erected on the land to which the right-of-way is intended to give access ; (2) that the buildings shall be of one story, and of not less value than ,£250; (3) that the buildings bo erected at least 10ft back from the line of the right-of-why. That, with respect to clause 2 of the Glenbervie road committee’s report, definite information bo obtained as to who is responsible ior erection of the fence and the City Surveyor report upon the cost of the work. That the City Solicitor bo instructed to proceed with the Private Streets Bill, as prepared for last session of Parliament. That no action bo taken with respect to the breastwork at end of Percival street.
That proceedings be taken to compel the owner of the property at south end of Mulgrave street to make up the footpath where it has fallen away. That the footpath at the Supreme Court he asphalted on payment by the Government of half the cost of the work. That a one inch water service be laid to the Victoria Bowling Green on the payment of all costs by the club. That consent be given to the erection of a verandah at the premises of Mr J. Dempsey. Victoria street, in accordance with the plan submitted.
