Messrs B. Meredith, T. Mackenzie. Maslin and J. A. Millar, M’s.H.E., arrived from the Sopth yesterday.
Sir Eoberf Stout has (says the Wanganui Herald) on many occasions of late given his bearers to understand that the present Minis, try is a corrupt body ot political adventurers, but he has never attempted to prove tha charge, nor has he ever given them credit for a single meritorious aot. The Hon W. M. Bolt, M.L.C., intends to give an address on the subject of his scheme for land settlement, nnder the anspices of the various labour organisations of Wellington, in the course of a week or two. It is rumoured that Mr T. It is stated that the Prohibition Party intend running a candidate in opposition to Mr Allen for the Bruce electorate.
