THE BATH SITE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —That in your sub-leador to-day you should try to comfort us with tho assurance that in a few more years tho To Aro bath sito will bo free from sewage fills mo with dismay. It is a law of nature that tho most active citizen becomes paralysed and apathetic when elected to tho Council, and it must bo tho contemplation of so much deadly inertness for many years that has subdued your proud editorial spirit and makes you seem to regard tho situation complacently. It is true that tho house sewage ina tow years will bo diverted frpmthfe harbour, but tho’street sewage, which is sufllciontly objectionable, will not be,-and tho sito tho Council has chosen will never bo a pleasant one. .A’very moderate Utile. enclosure ina clean place where the' clean north-west seas, can sweep through is all that is needed to provide- for‘the* healthy/'recreation of the bathing community, aud•• to'* allow tho boys to learn to swim. To got this tho Council should place tho bath near to Oriental Bay. To fritter away money on elaborate constructions in tho corner of tho harbour will not give satisfaction. The sito |is bad, and never will bo clean. Praying that 'Providence l may yet see .fit-to endow our councillors ’ with a proper sense of olcanli* : noas,-I—l 1 —I am, • - ■ • t- • Bather. •- 'December 12,'"1805. : ''
