ANTI-CHINESE LEAGUE.

THE PROPOSED VEGETABLE FARM,

A largely-attended meeting of the AntiChinese League was held in the Exchange Buildings last night, Mr A. Collins presiding.

On tho motion of tho Chairman, seconded by Mr Flanagan, it was decided that the present committee remain in office until the election of officers. Mr Mercier moved that a report of the work already done be drawn up and presented at. the next meeting. This was seconded by Mr Murdoch and carried.

A committee, consisting of Messrs Murdoch, A..'-Ward, A. Collins, Sfanden, Bropker, Mrs Tasker and Miss Lee, was set up to make, suggestions with regard to the proposed vegetable farm.' The secretary was instructed to procure a list of all the hotels where Chinese cooks are engaged.:

It was decided that the election of officers should take place at next Wednesday’s meeting of the League. On ’ the . motion ‘of Mrs Livermore, seconded by Mr Hindmarsh, it was resolved that only those bolding membership tickets should be eligible for admission to the meeting and for election. '.

•A unanimous vote of thanks was accorded to the Women’s Social and Political League for the use of their hall.

A large number of membership tickets were disposed of during the meeting.
