Nkw Zealand Times Office, Friday evening. Larry and Co. report for the past week as follows Wheat—The market is comparatively quiet, and little or no business doing. Values show a tendency to still further recode, and country millers, although short of supplies, are not disposed to operate meantime. Wo quote—Prime milling, 3s 7id to 3a lOd; medium to good, 3s Od to 3a 7d, f.o.b. Southern ports ; whole fowl wheat, 3a 8d to 3a 9d ox stores. Oats—ln sympathy with Southern reports the market displays a firmer tone, without, however, any > appreciable change in values. Local quotations still continue larger than those ruling in the South. Prime short oata arc worth Is lid to 2s; Danish, Is lOd; duns, 2s 2d, Barley— Holders, recognising the fact that it is quite impossible to effect sales for malting purposes, arc now offering milling and malting lines at feed prices. We quote—Prime malting, nominally, 2s Od to 3s; good feed, 2s 2d to2ssd. Maize—ln fair demand f*t 2s 9d to 2s lOd. Pollard—ln good request at 02a (id to 95a per ton. Chaff—Largo quantities have passed through our hands during the week at prices well up to those last quoted. Prime bright heavy, 72s Od to 755; medium to good, 57» Od to 05s per ton. Southern reports indicate a hardening market. Cocksfoot Pr mo bright machine dressed, 4£d ; bright heavy undressed, 4fcd; rough undressed, 3i<l per lb. Ryegrass—There is little or no business doing. Choice linos, however, are firmly hold. Wo quote—Prime bright machine dressed, 4s 3d ; medium to good, 3s Od to 3s 9d ; *ough farmers’ lots, 2s Od to 2s 9d. Matthew Henry reports of his Palmerston sale:—The pens wore fairly occupied to-day with sheep and cattle —composed chiefly of small lots. The attendance was vory good, but the tone of the market was not quite up to that of last sale with the exception of ■wethers aud strong woanors. A fair number of cattle wore disposed of, and all sheep cleared at quotations. Cattle—l B-month steers, «£2 10s; yearlings, 32s ; woaners, 18s Od to 20s ; forward cows, J 24. Sheep—2-tooth wethers, 7s 8d; lambs, 3s 6d to 4s Id; owes in lamb, 5s Gd; culls, 4s. Bacon pigs—Small, 15s ; sows, with young, 325.
