TO THE EDITOB. Sin,—ln this morning’s Tims yon reveal to the eye of the public the amount of losses through fire, in Captain Kemsloy’s report, the total being under J 812,000, against which the fleeced insurers pay no leas than -£BO,OOO. Consider this, yo City Fathers, and take the matter in hand in real earnest. Put against this .£BOOO for working expenses if done by tho City Council, reducing then our overdraft with balance X 60.000. What say you, Mr Editor, if our councillors had tho baok-bono to resist outside influence, tho above loss being for 12 mouths ?—I spa, &a. Policy-holder. June 21.
