EVISON’S CONFESSION.

In the case of Samuel Evison, who is being detained in custody on his own confession of having caused the death of a young woman at Nottingham in 1882, some additional evidence has been collected by the police which goes a long way to confirm what the prisoner has already confessed. . ,

This morning a - guradigger called upon Inspector Hickson, 1 and having said he knew something about the disappearance of the girl, he was asked to make a wx-itten statement of what he knew. In this he asserts he is a native of Worksop, Nottingham, and has known Samuel Evison since 1883. The latter, he says, was always vory reserved, and seldom .spoke unless spoken to; He was working as a carpenter in Nottingham after serving his apprenticeship, and witness remembered having road in the papers about Juno, 1882, that a girl was missing from the town of Nottingham, but he had not since heard whether her body had been found. He nevor heard any more about her. Ho also gave some information about both his and the prisoner’s people which will be of much use to the police in investigating the affair. Tho accused appears before tho looal Court to-morrow morning.
