Notice of a motion of want of confidence in the Government on account of the increased Customs duties has been tabled.
Brisbane, August 2.
The Government notifies that all members of the Ministry have voluntarily reduced their salaries 10 per cent. (Received August 3, 1 a.m.) Sydney, August 2. The revenue for the last month shows a deficiency of L 114,000. The Privy Council haring decided against the points reserved for the defence in the case of the condemned man Makin, convicted of murder in connection with numerous cases of babyfarming, the executive have decided that he shall pay the extreme penalty of the law on Monday week, the 14th.
