THE KAIHU VALLEY RAILWAY COMPANY.

A TOTAL COLLAPSE. (PER PRESS ASSOCIATION Auckland, June 12. A meeting of shareholders in the Kalhn Valley Railway Company (in liquidation) was held to day. Only four shareholders were present, and Mr H. Brett presided. The report of the liquidators says:—“All the efforts of your liquidators to sell the railway have proved futile, and your liquidators regret to have to report that they are afraid that the line and works, which cost the Company upwards of £BO.OOO, will not realise the amount due to the Government viz , £47,000 and the arrears of interest.” After a lengthy and recriminatory discussion as to some shareholders paying calls in full and others in part, the meeting adjourned till Monday.
