TVTOTICE is hereby given that the Council JLI of the City of Wellington will at a Special Meeting to be held on THURSDAY', the 30th day of April, 1891, at 7.30 p.m., make the following rates for the period commencing on,the Ist day of April, 1801, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1892, viz. ;

1. A General Rato, for the general pur. poses of the Borongh. of one shilling in the pound on the annual rateable value on the valuation roll of all rateable property within the Borough. 2. Water Rate, as underOn all lands and buildings within the Borough used as dwelling-houses to which water is supplied—(a) Where the annual rateable value on the valuation roll does not exceed £l2 10s, a rate of ten shillings. (b) Where euqh rateable value exceeds £l2 10s but does not exceed £3OO, a rate of 5 per cent on such value. (c) Where such rateable value exceeds £3OO, a rate of 4 per cent on such value. One half of the respective Water Rates mentioned above on all lands and buildings within the borough to which water can be but is not supplied situate within 100 yards from any part of the Corporation’s Waterworks. A Water Rate of 2J per cent on the rateable value of all buildings within the borough used as stores or warehouses, or (or any pur. poses other than dwelling-houses. 3. A rate under the provisions of “ The Hospital and Charitable Institutions Act, 1885,” of threepence in the pound on the annual rateable value on the Valuation Roll of all rateable property within the borough, such rate being required to meet the contri* factions payable by the Council to the Wei* Hngton Hospital Board, and the Wellington and Wuirarapa Charitable Aid Board. Notice is hereby also given that tbs esti - mates of income and expenditure for the period for which the above mentioned rates are proposed to be made, end the Rats Books containing the particulars of all tbo above rates, aro now open for inspection at the City Council Office, Brandon street, Wei. liugton.
