A disposition of tho Auckland Volunteer Garrison has been made by Major Goring so that in ease of a foreign attack each com. pany would know exactly what place it would have to defend. . Tho City Guards, who are now m camp at North Shore, took part with several other Volunteer companies in a sham fight to-day. Tho attacking force landed from Kangitoto Channel. Major Goring, who was the umpire, gave his decision in favour of the defenders, saying that bad the warfare been real, the Navals, who attacked, would have been slaughtered.
