Another batch of men, charged with intimidation at Baroaldine, have been sentenced to three months’ imprisonment each.

Mr H. Matthews, Home Secretary, has refused to giant the petition of rhe London and Dublin Trade and Labour Connells for a remission of the sentence of six weeks’ imprisonment passed on Mr Wilson, secretary of tha Seamen's Union, fpr inciting the Cardiff strikers to riot, Messrs Bernefc, of tho Board of Trade, and Drags, barrister, have been appointed secretaries of the Royal Laboar Commission.

Christchurch, April 21.
The Canterbury Employers’ Association have telegraphed to the Employers’ Association at .A Oakland requesting them to use their influence to obtain an amicable settlement of the difficulty in the boot trade by persuading the manufacturers to aooept the settlement agreed on at the Wellington Conference.
