ELECTION NEWS.
The date of the elections has rot yet been fixed. The meeting of Mr Boll’s supporters at Newtown was very largely attended. The chair was taken by Mr Swiney, and the usual preliminaries were nettled, Mr George London will address the Hatt electors in the Oddfellows’ Hal), Pitoae, on Friday, at 8 p.m. (PUR PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Invercargill, October 1. Dr Hcdgkinson and Messrs H. Hirst and J. Mackintosh are out for Wallace, Messrs W. Johnston, A. Baldey, and J. W. Hamilton a-j also mentioned. Mr J. F. Joyce is likely to contest tbe Wallace seat, for which electorate bo formerly aat. Hokitika, October 3. Messrs E. J. Seddon and J. Grimmond have both announced themseUes for the Westland seat at the coming elections. Christchurch, October 1. There are 7349 names on the new Christchurch roll, and the number will be considerably added to by the time tbe supplementary roll is out. Timaru, October 1. P. E. Thoreau, a police constable,' announces himself as a candidate for Timaru.
