Replying to the request of. the Legislative Assembly for a further increase of representation by South Australia on the Federal Council, in accordance with the recommendations of the Council, Lord Knutsford states he is unable to advise the Queen to issue an Order in Council. Before any increase is made all the colonies concerned should send a request to the Queen. Melbourne, April 19. The youth Bennett, arrested on a charge of murder by shooting his uncle, out of revenge for an alleged assault on his mother, was found not guilty, on the ground of insanity.
