WELLINGTON KENNEL CLUB.

FIRST SHOW.

The Kennel Club, which waa formed here a few months ago gave ample evidence, in the dog show at the Drillsbeds on March 28, of its g-eat prospects of future success. The entries, nearly 200 in number, include representatives of Christchurch, Nelson, Wanganui, and other places outside Wellington, so that the show is anything but a loeal concern. As a show it is an excellent one, and the quality of the animals exhibited is generally very good. The judging, which was entrusted again to Mr J. C. Coupe, of Melbourne, was done with all possible expedition, and concluded early in the afternoon. The verdict in the champion class was once more in favour of Mr R. Trigga’Shelford Jack (last year’s champion, bred by Mr Siddeley, of Melbourne). The only other' cpmpetitor was Gisborne Joe, bred by Mr C, F. Smallbone. The cup for the best New Zealand bred terrier was awarded to Mr Charles Row’s Flora, bred by Mr E. D. Westmaoott, of New Zealand, Following is the full prize list Mastiffs (Jogs and bitches) —Mr H.
