U.B.S. Co, agents. ■TheU.S.S. Co's sa Takapuna left One. hunga on the 14th instant, New Plymouth' at 4,30 pm next day, and arrived here at 1,15 pm yesterday. She sails for Lyttelton to-day. TheU.S.S. Co’s ss Rotorua left Dunedin on Monday; Lyttelton at 10 pm on Tuesday, and arrived here at 2 pm yesterday. She sailed for Nelson last night. The U.S.S. Co’s ss Penguin left Nelson at 5 pm on Tuesday, called at Pioton, and arrived hero at 7.30 am yesterday. She sailed South yesterday afternoon. SHIPPING SUMMARY. Shipping matters at this port since the publication of our last Summary have been somewhat brisk, especially in connexion ■with the export trade, several vessels having been despatched to England {ally laden with flax, etc. On the day of issuing our last Summary (March 20tb) the New Zea land Shipping Company’s R.M.S. Ruapehu sailed for London, via Rio, Teneriffe, and Plymouth. She took 138 passengers, and a full cargo of wool, frozen meat, flax, tallow, etc. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s barque Alaator, Captain Glazebrook, arrived in port from Nelson on March 21st to load for London. She is on the berth and is expected to sail abont the beginning of next week. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s ship Brahmin, Captain McKenzie, is at present loading at Pioton for London. She is expected to sail this week. The New Zea. landShippingCompany’sßhipParsee,.Captain Bailey, sailed for London on March 23 with a full cargo of colonial, produce. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s R.M.S, Kaibonra, Captain Crutchley, arrived in harbour on the 24th March from London, via Plymouth, Teneriffe, Capetown and Hobart. Variable weather, was experienced throughout, and the time from Plymouth occupied 43d 4h 59min, the actual steaming time from the same port being 41d lb 59min. She brought 61 passengers for New Zealand, of whom 27 were for Wellington. The .Kaikoura brought 2000 tons of cargo for. New Zealand, the Wellington portion consisting of 520 tons. Her mall was a large one, consisting of 219 bags mails and 22 boxes parcel post. Various amusements were held on the passage, and the voyage seems to have been a very pleasant one. The Eaikoara sailed for Lyttelton three days after arrival, and returned to Wellington last Saturday. She leaves this port for Londan, via usual way ports, to-day. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s ship LoOh Etive, Captain Stuart, arrived in port on March 25th, from Melbourne, to load for London. She is rapidly Ailing up, and is expected to sail about themiddleof next week. The Colonial Union Company’s ss Bay ley left this port for London on the 28th March with a full cargo of frozen meat, flax, etc. The baiqne Martha Fisher, Captain Lee, arrived in port from Liverpool bn March 31 after an uneventful passage of 113 days. She finished discharging her Wellington cargo and sailed for Dunedin on the J2th inst., from which port she will probably load for London. The American barque T. A. Goddard, Captain Sears, arrived in harbour on the 6th April from New York, after a long uneventful voyage of 126 days. After discharging her Wellington cargo she will leave for Auckland, The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s R.M.S. Doric, Captain Jennings, arrived in port from London, via Plymouth, Teneriffe, Capetown, and Hobart, on April 6th. Variable weather was met with throughout, and the time from Plymouth occupied 41d 6hr ■ SSmin, the actual steaming time from the same port being 46d 16hr 58miu. She brought 43 passengers for New Zealand, of whom 12 were for Wellington. Her mail . was. a small one, consisting of 6 packets mails and 27 boxes parcel post. The Doric brought 1351 tons of cargo for New Zealand, the Wellington portion consisting of 600 tons. Several very excellent concerts were given on the passage, and passed off very successfully. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s barque Merope, Captain Thomas, sailed for London on the 11th inat. with the following cargo 654 bales wool, 197 casks tallow, 45 sacks hides, and 3001 bales flax. Happily no shipping casualty has occurred at this port during the past month.
