(per press association.) Wanganui, April 14. The case of Studholme v. Craig, in which the latter was charged with the larceny of £SO worth of wool at Karloi (Murimotu), occupied the R.M. several days, and was brought to a close this evening, the accused being committed for trial in the Supreme Court, which opens to-morrow. Mr Justice Prendergast is expected to arrive here this evening. The Supreme Court sittings are expected to be short, only three criminal oases being on the calendar and some half-dozen civil actions. Albert Osborne and F. McCaulley, charged on the information of W. Spripgens with the robbery of a safe, were discharged to-day. No evidence was forthcoming against them. The Ministerial party is expected to arrive from their trip along the main trunk line by the river to-day. Rain has been falling all day, and has done much good. Dunedin, April 14. Mr Carew to-day condemned some milk seized by the Inspector of Nuisances, which came from the dairy of Mr Blair, in the Nsrth-East Valley. He said it had been proved that the premises were in a filthy State, and that the bulk of the fever oases known in Dunedin were oases in which persons had derived their milk supply from Blair, Dr Ogston had stated that the milk from the dairy could not be fit for food, even without the presence of typhoid at all,

and an order would be made condemning the milk and ordering it to be destroyed. Mr Justice Williams reserved his decision in the case brought by the Commissioner of Customs as to whether Sunlight soap was a fancy or household soap. Christchurch, April 14.

Sir John Hall, having resigned the presidency of the Agricultural and Pastoral Association, Mr John Anderson, jnn., of the firm of John Anderson and Sons, has been elected president. The City Council passed their estimates to-night. The receipts are £6115, and the expenditure—works, £7883 ; general, £5071 : debit balance at the bank, £6797. It was decided to strike a rate of a farthing in the pound. At a meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Assooiatien to-night, R. B. Lusk (Auckland) and D. Wood (Canterbury) were added to the list picked to visit Sydney. The team pro .ably leaves on its way on the 12th. Auckland, April 12. Mr Allan Taylor, an old resident of Auckland, having been for 40 years in this district, died suddenly to-day of apoplexy.
