FULLER particulars will be furnished on application, and i mending fJnytrs or Lessees, who do not see anything in this list to suit them, are invited to send me a note of their requirements, which shall receive prompt and personal attention, a®" In order to remove erroneous impressions as to the taxation of the Taranaki district, the following facts and figures are supplied ; AU Lands, whether ia town, villages, or country, situated on the line of coast between Mokau on the north, and on either side of Mount Egmont as far as, but not including, Hawera on the south, are chargeable with the New Plymouth Harbour rate of THREE FARTHINGS in the £ on the capital value, as determined triennial!/ by the Property Tax Assessment. Thus, a property valued at £IOOO pays £3 2s 6d per annum. Count? Rates. In the Taranaki County the rates amount to One Penny (Id) in the £, and in Clifton County ONE HALFPENNY (|d), in each case, inclusive of the levy for Hospital and Charitable Aid. The District Road Rates vary from |d to |d in the £, but in some districts no rate is struck. It will thus be seen that the greatest rating in any Country District is 2£d in the £, viz., Harbour |d, County Id, and Road Board §d. In the Borough of New Plymouth, the total Municipal Rates amount tc 2s 9d in the £ on ANNUAL valuation, and include an abundant and constant supply of pure water. The Harbour Rate ia equal to Is in the £, making total rating 3s 9d in the £, or rather less than one-fifth of the amount of rental. F. P. CORKILL, National Bank Chambers, New Plymouth.
