PALMERSTON NORTH.
(FROM OCR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) November 1. At last night’s meeting of the Borough Council it was resolved, on the motion of Councillor Edwards, seconded by Councillor A. Stewart, “That in connection with Mr Hubbard’s presumed claim the Borough Solicitor be instructed to arrange with Mr Hawkins (Mr Hubbard’s solicitor) re same.” On the motion of Councillor Piranijsecondedby Councillor Joseph Beale, it was further resolved, “ That in the event of no settlement being come to between the. Borough Solicitor (Mr Warburton) and Mr Hubbard’s solicitor (Mr Hawkins) the Borough Solicitor, be empowered to file statement of defence.” The weather is stormy. A strong gale is blowing, with heavy showers; glass, 29-6.
