Penguin, ss, 412 tons, Stott, for Picton. Passengers—2oo Excursionists, U.S.S, Co, agents. The U.S.S. Co’s ss Tarawera, from Auckland and East Coast, arrived at 5 am yesterday. She left Auckland at noon on 30th, ■arrived at Gisborne on 3lat at 3 pm, left at 8 pm, arriving at Napier on Ist January at 4 am ; sailed at 10 am, and arrived as above. She experienced to Gisborne strong southerly winds, and hence line weather to arrival. The U.S.S. Go's ss Australia left Auckland on the 28th, at 7 pm, called at Coast ports, and arrived at Napier on the 31st at 9 pm, left next day at 8 am, and arrived here at 10 am yesterday. 'The ss Maori arrived here from Greymouth at 12,15 am yesterday. Sne experienced fine weather till the Straits were reached, after which the wind freshened, lasting till arrival. THE SHIP INVERCARGILL, FROM LONDON, The Shaw, Savili and. Albion Co’s ship Invercargill left London on the 15th October and Gravesend next day, and was off the Lizards on the 18th ; experienced easterly winds to the Equator, which was crossed on the 7th November. She picked up the SE trades, which were moderate, and lasted for six days. She then had light easterly winds for nearly a week, after which she met with westerley winds in lat 40deg 4min west. Thence the winds continued moderate from the westward to arrival off the Heads on Saturday night about 10 o'clock. The Invercargill was towed in by the Dispatch yesterday morning, and anchored in the stream at 7.30. She brought 10 passengers, who have arrived in good health, and apeak very highly of the attention paid to them by Captain Muir and his officers.

The Wanaka leaves this evening for New Plymouth and Manuk u. The Australia leaves this afternoon for Auckland, via East Coast. TURNBULL AND 00.’.S STEAMERS. The Huia leaves Wanganui this afternoon for Wellington. The Charles Edward leaves Nelson to-day for Wellington. BRUNNER COAL CO.’S STEAMERS. The Maori and Rosamond leave to-day for the West Coast. LEVIN AND CO.’S STEAMERS. The Argyle leaves Wanganui to-day for Wellington, also Neptune from Blenheim.
