THE ELECTIONS.
Mr William Robertson, of the Phoenix Foundry, has published an address to the electors of Wellington East, in which he states he will contest the seat with Mr Fisher. Mr Fitzherhert addresses the Hutt electors at Tawa Flat this evening at 7 o’clock. (UNITED press association.) Gbeymouth, August 19. Mr Petrie is now engaged addressing all the country centres of population. He was at Red Jack’s last night, and received a vote of thanks and confidence. He speaks at Notown to-night, Christchurch, August 19. _ Mr James Caygill, printer, will, it is said, oppose Mr Taylor for Sydenham. Kaikoura, August 19. A requisition is being signed here asking Mr C. A. Halliday, solicitor, to stand for Cheviot.
