Wicked for Clerygmen.— I believe it to be all wrong and even wicked for clergymen or other public men to be led into giving testimonials to quack doctors or vile stufia called medicines, but when a really mentorious article is made up of common valuable remedies known to all, and that all physicians use and trust it daily, we shon d freely commend it. I therefore cheerfully and heartfully commend Hop Jtton for’the cood they have done me and my friends, firmly believing they have no equal for family use. I will not be without them. A method employed for the detection of defects in the sewer pipes of houses is to introduce oil of peppermint wdh water, into the pipes on the roof, aud to search within the house lor the odour of peppermint, which will be detected at or near the point where the defect exists. ;
