I was over four months in the Dunedin Hospital, the card over my bed stating my disease to be consumption, and I was discharged as they could do no good. I picked up one of Dr. Speer’s Handbills in the Hospital grounds, and called too see him. He laughed at my sad appearance, and said, “be happy, old man, you are worrying over the past, you have been frightened, do as I tell you and you will soon feel like a new man.” In ten weeks 1 find he was right.
