(UNITED PEE 33 ASSOCIATION.) Cheisichuech, August 17. A petition to the General Assembly is being circulated praying that sections IT and 18 of the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 18S1, be amended by the addition of a provision, legalising sweepstake or consultation by any person or persons who shall have obtained the sanction of or be appointed by- the Colonial Secretary for such purpose on any horse race or races, the whole of such sweepstake or consultation to be divided among the winners in the manner and in proportion to be advertised by such person, less. commission of per centum on tha gross amount of such consultation. That such person or persons so authorised to carry on such sweepstake or consultation shall pay an annual license fee of £ to the Crown*
