ADMIRAL TRYON.

HIS OPINION OP THE TONGAN OUTBREAK. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, February 11. Admiral Tryon states that he sees no immediate necessity to despatch a warship to Tonga, bat that ultimately the state oi affairs there will have to be thoroughly investigated when a man-of-war goes down* The Admiral paid a visit of inspection to the Calliope Dock to-day. THE ADMIRAL INTERVIEWED. Auckland, February 11. A representative of the Herald interviewed Admiral Tryon re Tongan affairs to-day. The Admiral said, “I have really no farther information about the state of affairs at Tonga than has been made public. As to what steps are to be taken, there does not appear to be any urgent necessity for action. When the schooner Malle ’ left things were quieting down, and the only chief who could be said to be in rebellion was in custody. The natives from Habai and Havaii (who had com© to Tonga, and who seemed inclined to be disorderly and to go about firing their guns) were returning. There seemed to bo no danger of any life tbeing lost, so that there is no need for immediate action on that account. The Consul will be there by this time, and the Consul-General is fully informed of, all that has taken place, as a matter of course. Ultimately a man-of-war will have to be sent down and the whole subject will have to be investigated, with what bearing on the position of Tonga Ido not know; but there is no hurry about that so far as I can see. I have replied to Sir Robert Stout, and informed him of what I think on the subject.
