The heaviest salmon of modern days was captured by the nets in th« Tay in 1870. It was a magnificent fith of 701bs, On October 20 a very saccerefol meeting was held at the Mansion House, London, under the auspices of the Lord Mayor, to support a movement for providing women doctors for the female inhabitants of India.
