HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY’S SPRING SHOW.

The Spring Show of the Wellington Hoitlcultural Society was opened in the Brillihed yesterday weelf. Spying abqwf, as a rul*, are generally admitted to produce anything but a magnificent fl >ral display ; but the show under liotlcv, degpite the bud weather which his prevailed for the last few mouth*, li certriuly well up to the standard of previous exhibitions of a similar nature. Out flowers, of course, have suffered considerably from alver.o winds, but the greenhouse plants appear iu goodly array. S| ace does uot permit of a lengthened criticism if the exhibit*, hut it may fa* stated bricky that onp of tho notice* able feature of the atyow waa the number and merit of tho exhibit* of pelargonium*, which really couatitutecl a §hqw iu themselves. The ex* hibils of fruit and vegetables were rather ; scanty, but what was absent iu quantity was amply made up Lp iu quality. (Some new potatoes were very much admired, as were al*o tho exhibits of asparagus, broad beaus, and onion*. Some very fino golden wax bean* were shown by Mr Ukell, The DrilUhud was very tastefully decorated- sh e Circular stanq built for Cl&irinftf circus proving very convenient for Ibo <pot plant*.
