MURDER BY A NATIVE LUNATIC.

Auckland, July 10. A telegram from Ohiuemuta last night says :—This morning Constable Abrams arrested a native named Meihana, a lunatic, for having murdered a native woman named To Tnkemata at Te Ngae yesterday afternoon. The body was afterwards buried, but the countable had it exhumed, and an inquest will be held. The murderer had been at one, time in tho asjlum. On being questioned, the reason ho gave was that a spirit told him to kill the woman.
