FASHIONABLE WEDDING AT ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL.

St. Paul’s Cathedral was thronged onSaturday to witness the wedding of Dr George Goode, M.A., II.D„M.Ch I| Trinity College, Dublin, second son of the late Mr W T 4 J. Goode, o! Fingl&s House, Dublin, C.E., to Miss Harriett© Riddiford, daughter of tho late Mr Daniel Riddiford, of Woburn, Hutt, Wellington. Apart altogether from the interesting surroundings of the ceremony, the details were so admirably carried out that they are worth more than a passing notice. Tho marriage took place at 2.3oo’clock,and was solemnised by Archdeacon Thorpe assisted by tho Rev T.Faucourt. The bride was escorted to the church by her brother, Mr Riddiford, of Woburn, aud was followed by five bridesmaids, viz., Misses William*, Cooper, Had* field, Kelham, and Brandon, and by the bride’s mother and brothers, aud were received by tho bridegroom and his “ best man,*’ Mr —* Riddiford. The bride’s dress was an ivory brocaded satin and sura, elaborately trimmed with soft Edelweiss lace, orange blotaom, stophouotus, and roses. Her veil of cosily lace was caught up with the same flowers, aud completely enveloped the figure. Her bouquet was largo enough to satisfy the most fastidious, and her present of the bridegroom) consisted of a massive gold collar or necklet of Grecian patters, from which depended a handsome ornament set iu diamonds and opals. This was a present from a relation at Home. The bridesmaids wore charming costumes of feoral colored silk covered with Indian muslin, and tulle veils looped up with roses, and each wore a handsome silver and gold bracelet, elaborately engraved, presented by the bridegroom. Mrs Riddiford wore a black velvet dress with n long train, white ludiau shawl aud white bonnet ; there wore also many other handsome dresses amongst the guests. The wed* ding party drove to Mrs Riddiford’s residence iu theTinakoii road after the ceremony was concluded, and were right loyally entertained, tho healths of the happy pair being enthusiastically toasted ; and at 4 o’clock Mr and Mra Goode drove away amidst a perfect shower of rice and satin slippers. The bridal presents were very numerous, and some were of great beauty, especially a handsome gold bracelet set with emeralds, and the gift of the bridegroom. The wedding was to have been on a much larger scale, two hundred invitations having been originally issued, but owing to the lamented death of Major Willis, it hud to be postponed, and then only the immediatofamily circle were re-invited Amongst the guests were the Hon Mr and Mrs Pharazyn, Hon J. Johnston, Mies Johnston, Mr and Mrs C. Johnston, M.H.R.; Mr Mr Levin, M.fLR. ; Ur and Mrs Newman, Mr and Mrs Higgiuson, C.K.; Mr and Mrs Beethxm, Mrs T. O. and the Misses Williams, Mr and Mrs Izud, Hon Mr aud Mrs, and the Mi ses Brandon, Miss Even*, Mrs Wilford, Mr F. Johnston, Mra and Me C. Clifford, Mrs and Miss Kel bam, Miss Hunter, Mr Maxwell, Mr and Mra and the Misses Cooper, Mr A. Cooper, Rev Archdeacon Thorpe, Rev Mr and Mra Fancourt, Mr Pennefathep, Mr and Mra Riddiford, Woburn, Mr and Mra F.' Riddiford, Mr and Mra D. Riddiford, Mr Dau Riddiford, Mr and Mias Swanson, the Misses Hadfield. The Lord Bishop of Wellington was to have officiated, but was prevented by illness.
