Tir iisviAY, March 29. (Before Mr r . A. Wardell, R.M.) Drunkenne-S-; —Two first offence s were eech mulcted in 5s for this cffenco, one of them being also ordered to pay <xpen?es incurred iu procuring medical attendance.
DESERTION. —J"hn Ruche, a seam in on board the British King, admitted having deserted from that vea-sel, and was remanded to Ljttelton. Civil Business. J. Flaherty v. M. Mahoney (judgment summons), £l3, Evidenc * was produced that defendant had been earning £3 P Br Week as a compositor. It was, however, shown for the defence that he was out of employment, aid unable to pay. At tlie request of Mr Gu ly, who appeared for the plaintiff, the case was adjourned for one month. In the following cases, judgment was given for amount claimed and costs : —A, Lindsay v. J. Buick, £4 17a 61; Chappie v. Frankel, £2 3s 6d ; D. Clark v. J. Reynolds, £24 ; same v. J. Gurr, £3 15s ; same v. A. McLean, 15s ; It Martin v. U. H. Bowern, £l4 3s; Radford v. d. Waller, £5; Chappie V. R. s. Martin, £5 12s 2d ; same v. F. HID, £2 5s ; same v. J. Austin, 18s 9d ; Olsen v, Elis, £6 8s 2d ; J. and T. Meek v. E, Bolton, £l3 16s 3d.
