There is again a good attendance on the course, and considerable interest appears to be taken in the second day’s sports. Handicap Hurdles. —Six started, and a splendid race ensued between Liability and Dick, who were close company for the two miles, but coming up the straight Liability was held whilst Dick was hard whipping and Liability finished a length and a half in front of Dick, Te Kooti being a bad third. For District Handicap, Forest King was scratched, there being four starters. School* boy, with 10st 71b, bolted, and Thunderer, with list up, also went off the track. Hope was first to draw ahead, but on coming past the stand the first time, he struck the timber rather heavily, and, though he recovered, stumbled very much, and went off the course, letting Cribhage obtain sue! an advantage, that he was never caught, and the most popular win of the meeting was scored by Mr jd.
