RIFLE COMPETITIONS.
The Wellington Navals met at Petone on Saturday afternoon to compete for a cup presented by Lieutenant Hislop. The weather could not be surpassed, and the shooting was above the average. Five shots were allowed at each range. The scores were:
Seaman O. France thus, securing the Cup and Seamen Dixon and W. Harris,, Bandsman Howe, and P.O. France, winning the other prizes offered. The Naval Brigade team selected to fire against the Port Chalmers, and Port Lyttelton Brigades fired at the Polhill Gully range on Saturday. morning, . The scores were as follows :
