At the Geraldine races on the second day there was again a large attendance, and the sport was first class. Hack Hurdle Race of 15 sov® ; one and a-half miles.—F. Hodge's Our Pony,-1 ; W. L. Crawley’s Btenda, 2. Geraldine Cup Handicap of 100 sovs; two and a-quarter miles.—S Horsfall’s King Quail, 7st 131 b, 1 ; J. H. Lnnn’s Welcome Jack, fist 81b 2 ; D. O’Brien’s Tasman, fist, 3. Won by half a length. ■ Ladies’ Purse of 30 sovs; one and a-half miles.—G. Lawson’s Comet, lOst 111 b, 1 ; W. Bishop’s Curate, 9st 21b, 2. Five others ran. Won by three-quarters of a length. _ Flying Handicap of 60 sovs ; six furlongs. Mason and Vallance’s Tnrqnoise, 7st 21b, 1 ; I). O’Brien’s Ho’.derneas, 7»t 51b, 2 ; G. Lawson’s Marchioness Neil, fist 121 b, 3. One other ran, and the event was won by half a length. The Consolation Plate of 20 sovs was won by Rebecca. ' Auckland, September 29.
