The Union Company's steamer Wakatlpu left Sydney at 4 p.m. on Saturday last, experienced strong westerly winds with moderate sea throughout the passage, and arrived alongside the Queen's Wharf at 3 pm. yesterday. As usual, she brings a full cargo for all ports. She leaves to-day for Lyttelton and Port Chalmers, , . During the time the Union Company a steamer Penguin Is laid up to receive new boilers and engines, the Waitalci will take up her running. The s.s. Wakatu came off the Slip yesterday, and leaves for Patca to-day. The steamer Jane Douglas will resume her usual running to-morrow, when she leaves for Foxton. The Anchor Lino steamer Charles Edward did not get out of the Wanganui river yesterday morning, End her departure from this port for Nelson and the West Coast has therefore been postponed till tomorrow. The s.s, Murray, recently stranded at Hokitika, has been moved to within 50 feet of the breastwork, and Is now awaiting the decision of the Harbor Board as to the cutting away of a portion of the breastwork to facilitate launching into the river. .
