All horses to be at the post st the appointed time for starting each race, and the Stewards may give the Starter power to start the horses at the post without waiting tor any other horse, or may fine the owner, trainer, or jockey of such other horse, a sum of money, not exceeding li2, to go to the race fund. All entries and acceptances must be in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Empire Hotel, Wellington, and contain entrance money, description and age of horse, and colors to pa worn by the jockey. A penalty of 2 sovs. will be enforced for riding in wrong colors. The revised rules of the Wellington Racing Club, dated from Ist October, 1881, will bo strictly adhered to. In the event of any person entering a protest, a sum of li2 2s must be lodged with the Secretary before such protest is considered. This sum to be forfeited to the funds should the Stewards consider the protest frivolous or vexations. Five per cent, will be deducted from the gross of all moneys won, in accordance with the programme. _ . All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the races shall be decided _by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint, and their decision shaß be final. _ .
