In the Native Lauds Court yesterday, Hamuera Mahupuku withdrew from conducting the case, as certain Natives were dissatisfied with his doing so, asserting that he had a leaning to his wife’s side, Wbatakaere (overlap including Whakahinaki) claimed, on behalf of himself and others. The Court adjourned for an hour, to see if the disputed boundaries could be arranged. On resumption, the Court further adjourned, to see if the matter could be arranged, and Hoera was to be seen on the matter. Matter arranged this morning. With regard to the non-alienation of certain lands, a petition was presented from the Natives by Messrs Beetbam and Buchanan, testifying they had plenty of land to fall back on. The Court stated they had no objection to remove the obstruction if all parties were agreeable to the withdrawal, the order not having been signed Wiremu Mahupuku and others spoke in favor of the petition being granted. The Court then removed non-alienable restrictions on Maungaraki, Maurioho, and Tikiwbakairo. The Carterton Town Board met yesterday, but the business was only of local importance. Tho first meeting of Directors of the Taral;ahi Dairy Company took place last night. OoL Farrington was elected Chairman ; John Burrow, Treasurer ; Thomas (lore. Secretary ; registered office, Carterton; Bank of New South WalsS, bankers.. All other matters respecting site, and otherwise for the benefit of the shareholders, were fully discussed aud resolutions passed accordingly, the business of the evening occupying the Directory from 7 to 11 p.m.
