“SHALL SCIENCE, BE TAUGHT IN THE SCHOOLS OF WELLINGTON !” THE SCHOOLMASTER ABROAD.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —The thoughtful inquiries of “.F.8.H.” in his letter on the subject of education in your issue of- 21st instant were surely deserving of a more serious reply than the. flippant- production signed “ W. G. T-,” which appeared on the 23cd instant. One weald think this writer had a very bad case to defend when he puts forward personalities in place of argument. It would, perhaps, be well to remind him of the Turkish proverb of the “ Bulbul and the Sonchus,” the moral to be derived from which is that it is unwise for a person who has been called hard names to give his enemies instances to point to.—l am, &0., BETA. Wellington, 25th September, 1882..
