FOOTBALL.
NEW SOUTH WALES V. OTAGO. (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Dunedin, September 26. The score in the football match, as played on Saturday, should be—Otago, 11 points ; Sydney, nil. One of the disputed touch-downs was, it seems, awarded to Otago, but in accordance with New South Wales rules no-try for goal was allowed, because two of .the Otago men had touched the ball down, Otago therefore won by one goal and two tries and one touch-down to nothing. THE CHRISTCHURCH MATCH. Dunedin, September 25. The Secretary of the Canterbury; Rugby Union (Mr Lewie) has been endeavoring to arrange a return match between the ; Christ* church and Sydney teams, but the Sydney men cannot accede to the request, as they have to play Wellington on Friday, Napier, most probably, on Saturday, and Auckland on Tuesday.
