beuteb’s telegrams. (Received September 25, 1 a.m.) London, September 25. Admiral Seymour and Sir Garnet Wolseley will, it is stated, shortly be raised to the Peerage. Constantinople, September 23. The Porte has conceded all the demands of the Hellenic Government in connection with the disputed boundary in Thessaly, and the Conference which was proposed to be held to decide the question has, accordingly, been abandoned. Vienna, September 23.
A bridge over the river Drave, a tributary of the Danube, on the Southern Hungarian railway line, collapsed to-day, and a passing train conveying thirty soldiers was engulphed in the river. Sydney, September 25. The Alfred Hospital was opened do-day by his Excellency the Governor. .At a meeting held this evening, the Cricket Association decided not to entertain the proposed visit of a New Zealand Eleven, owing to the number of matches that have already been made for the coming season. Melbourne, September 25. Piracy has been scratched for the Melbourne Cup.
