THE TRIAL OF HIROKI

Hiroki was brought up at the Police Court this morning upon the charge of having murdered John McLean. The following Justness presided :—C. E Rawson, R.M., and F. A. Carrington and T. King, J.P.’e, Mr Standisb, Crown Prosecutor, and Mr Samuel appeared for the prosecution. After voluminous evidence had been taken, from which it appeared that the prisoner had been tracked to Parihaka, a distance cf 30 miles, and that he had confessed the murder to a European, the prisoner was committed for trial.
