FIRE AT CAVERSHAM.
Dunedin, November 24.
Two cottages at Caversham were burned down this morning. The fire was caused by the explosion of a kerosene lamp at 10 o'clock last night. The neighbors thought it was put out, but at 3 o’clock the flames burst out agai. and spread with great rapidity, some of the inmates getting severely burnt in effecting their escape. Morrison’s house, in which the fire started, was insured for £2OO ; Hobson’s, adjoining, for £275 in the National.
