Business Notices A LADY’S OPINION On recent fashionable IMPORTATION'S At TE AEO HOUSE. LADIES’ DOLMANS. NEXT come the dolman?, large handsome, fully-trimmed garments, of rich cashmere and heavy satin, mostly garnished with Spanish lace and jet; these are much in demand. LADIES’ FICHUS, 4c. But the prettiest novelty is the chenille vetment, made in several shapes, some fichulike, others simply capes, and then again medium-sized mantles. Very soft and richlooking are these, and, clinging as they do to the figure, they are most becoming ; composed entirely of silk braid and chenille, they are certain to keep their color and wear well. LADIES’ COSTUMES. As to costumes, it would be impossible to tell of all the varieties of make, material, and color that call for admiration. HOLIDAY COSTUMES. For the coming holidays there will naturally be a demand for suitable dresses in which to make a festive appearance. I was shown some pretty and effective, yet inexpensive costumes, the very ones for the purpose. One made of zephyr cloth, a pink check, the skirt having a deep kilt and bands of light Pompadour, edged with cream lace, the bodice shirred at neck and waist. Another pretty style is a black ground sateen with gold colored spots, or a dark blue with light blue spots ; these were made up very stylishly with widely kilted skirt, and drapery forming wide points overlapping each other, and separate jacket bodice. Lastly, I must mention the Madras muslin dresses in combination with sateen, the effect being (airy-like. Such lovely soft colors enchant the eye. Many a fair maiden will gaze longingly, and hesitate which to choose—cream, pink, or blue-that is, if she has the purchase the coveted robe.
