THE NEW PROPERTY TAX SCHEDULES.

At a meeting of the Executive Council held on Monday evening, the revised form of schedule under the Property Assessment Amendment Act was adopted. The time for makidg returns has been extended, as we have previously mentioned, until the 2oth October next. The following Is the new form, and the appended side notes makes it easily comprehended : —• # . Property Assessment District . To (name) ■, Occupation —. Address In pursuance of the Property Assessment Act, 1879, you are hereby required to furnish a statement of all your property in the following form, and cause the same to be forwarded to the Deputy Commissioner of your district at ,on or before the 25th October, 1580, in default of which you will be liable to a penalty of £IOO, and to be assessed and charged treble duty. This statement may be seat free by post to the Deputy Commissioner, and must be sent not later than the 25th October. Statement of a'l the property of me the above-named required for the purposes of the Property Assessment Act, 1879, and the Property Assessment Act Amendment Act, 1880, and of the value of my interest in such property. See sections 19 and 20 of the Act of 1879. Tbo above form, may be varied or altered by agents or in such manner may be necessary to show who is the person beneficially interested in the property. (a.) Value may bo stated at aggregate value or separately for each property. (6.) Here insert general statement of property, showing its locality. Give area of land in all cases where possible. If not sufficient room here for statement it can be continued on the back, and must be signed. (C.) Personal property includes all property of whatever nature not comprised in the definition of real property. {d) The main exemptions are stated here, but attention is directed to section '26 pf the Act of 1879 for fuller information.
