Allen re the above subject, ".'which appears in your'iasiie'of to-day,’it would;appear I that an insurance policy (from the authorities • quoted) is declared void, owing 1 to Ipss happenling through the incapacity or the negligence of a master of a vessel. Now, sir, Ifind that, in the 10th edition of “Lee’s Laws of Shipping,” published London, •1877, page 414, the contrary is clearly and distinctly stated; In the face of these opposing authorities,'l think it would be of service were the insurance ! companies here prepared to show how they would act in a like case.—l am; £o. t - • Geo.
