Montgomery has been committed for trial for the late jewellery robberies. Melbourne, Thursday. The Bohemians, in their first innings, scored 236 ; Canterbury made 105 in their second innings ; Bohemians, second innings, 67, with two wickets. They won by eight wickets. George Martin and Co. have failed. It is stated their liabilities are large, principally English creditors. (SPECIAL TO THE PRESS AGEHC7.) Melbourne, Tuesday. The Lusitana arrivedat Adelaide yesternight. A rich gold has been made at Stawell. On the meeting of the Queensland Parliament on Tuesday, the Douglas Ministry were met by a direct vote of want of confidence. The debate is proceeding. The Opposition are confident of success. While firing a salute at the opening ceremony, two gunners were killed by the explosion of a gun, and a third wounded. Both were accorded a public funeral. The Governor’s speech stated that on the expiration of tho Torres Strait mail service tenders would be invited for a fresh service, as the present rate of speed is considered inadequate to the requirements of the colony.
