(SPECIAL TO THE PRESS AGENCY,J AUSTRALIAN NEWS, Brisbane, Monday. Berens, Rananington, and Co., merchants, have stopped payment. Berens left home on Thursday night. His body has since been found in the river at Toowing. Deceased has been thirteen years in the colony. His funeral to-day was largely attended. Melbourne, Monday.
Canterbury v. East Melbourne.—East Melbourne, 188. Horan and Boyle form part of the team. Canterbury, first six wickets, 182. Mr, Lalor will probably visit Sydney to confer on the border duties.
