CRICKET.

A cricket match was played on the Basin Reserve on Saturday between the Wellington and Telegraph Clubs, and resulted in au easy victory for the former. The day was glorious, and there was a good number of spectators on tho ground. We cannot compliment the custodian of the reserve for the pitch he prepared, it certainly was about the worst place on the ground. A large hole was left near one wicket, which had to be filled up before the game was commenced. The match calls for no special comment. The bowling throughout good, but the batting displayed was not up to the general average. Leclde, by the way, maintained his reputation as a “sticker,” and made the very respectable score of 37.
