THE HUANGARUA PROPERTY.

TO THE EDITOR OP THE NEW ZEALAND TIMES. Sir, —The notice of the sale of the Huangarua property iu the Times of this morning contains some erroneous particulars. The property, although bought during the great depression of 1869, had, with additions to the original purchase, cost over £42,000 prior to its sale. I never wrote from England, authorising the sale of the property for £60,000. On the contrary, when in England I was negotiating its sale for £IOO,OOO, a price that, had I been in the colony at the time, I think I could readily have obtained. The property was finally sold for £85,000. —I am, &c., G. M. Waterhouse. Wellington, January 9.
